Throw out the seating chart?!

This may seem radical but, try this: Throw out the seating chart and move the desks around each week.

 

What would happen if students did not have an assigned seat in your classroom for a whole week? Yes yes there would be talking but what if they chose a new seat for a while. What if they had to read the text of the classroom set up and find the right place for themselves? What if…

Try not to go down the bad road here. Just play with me for a minute. Make a prediction, what might students learn from this activity? Is it in the curriculum?
